NGLTF Interns Interns interested in working on exciting gay and lesbian issues in the nation's capital are encouraged to apply now for a National Gay and Lesbian Task Force internship. NGLTF is accepting intern applications for summer and the rest of the year in its Washington, D.C., office. Interns are not paid, but they have the opportunity to work on a variety of lobbying, media advocacy, demonstrations and events, hate crimes, campus, domestic partnership, family and other issues.

Internships at NGLTF offer access to local and nationwide civil rights networks and give students a chance to join a dynamic national lesbian and gay organization as it works for freedom and equality. Interns work either full or half time (20 or 40 hours a week). Previous interns have received funding and credit through their schools, and have held part-time jobs in Washington in addition to their NGLTF positions. NGLTF is flexible in terms of length of internship, with most students coming for their summer vacation or January break.

Interns are responsible for their own housing, although NGLTF has provided limited referral assistance in the past. For more information, contact Mary Martone, NGLTF Intern Coordinator, at 202-332-6483, or write her at 1517 U St. NW, Washington, DC 20009.
